Tigers unbeaten in conference play

Three West Central Conference wins highlighted a 3-1 week for the Beardstown varsity baseball team as they moved to 6-0 in the conference and 6-3 overall. The Tigers beat West Hancock and Liberty at home, Augusta Southeastern on the road and lost to Pittsfield at home.

Lady Bluejays drop Bombers

The PORTA-AC Central softball team lost their first two games of last week before rebounding to get a good 10 to 7 home win over the Macomb Bombers on Saturday. The Lady Bluejays lost to Maroa Forsyth 8 to 2 on Tuesday and fell to Quincy High School 14 to 10 on Friday.

Beardstown Junior High Track

It was another successful week for the Beardstown Junior High School track teams with several champions and medal winners over two meets last week. At home last Monday, the seventh-grade boys placed second out of nine teams, the eighth-grade boys placed third out of eight teams, the seventh- grade girls placed fourth out of eight teams, and the eighth-grade girls placed second out of nine teams.

Lady Tiger's host showcase

The Beardstown softball team hosted the annual Lady Tiger Showcase last weekend and an onslaught of quality teams saw BHS go just 1-3 on the weekend. Two earlier wins in a hectic, six game week gave the Tigers a 3-3 overall record for the week making them 7-6 on the season.

We’re still getting crazy weather where we can’t decide what to wear. It may be 70 degrees during the day, but drop to 35 at night. We’re still not in the safe zone of putting away our winter clothes.
