Youth firearm deer hunting season coming to Jim Edgar Panther Creek

Youth hunters interested in participating in the Illinois Youth Firearm Deer Hunt this year during the Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 10-12) at Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area must submit a postcard to the JEPC site office by Sept. 3 to enter a drawing for 75 hunters to hunt the two Open Units at JEPC.
The Youth Deer Hunt drawing will be held Sept. 5.
On the postcard, youth hunters should provide their name, age, address and phone number. Successful applicants will be notified. Youth hunters successful in drawing hunting spots at JEPC can purchase a Cass County permit for the Youth Firearm Deer Hunt over-the-counter at authorized DNR Direct license and permit vendors throughout the state.     In last week’s Focus, I wrote about two doors listed in the Scriptures. One door was an open door which God gives as an invitation to hope and our calling, an open door which no one can shut.
