Workshop to be held at Dickson Mounds

    Dickson Mounds Museum is hosting a workshop for educators on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Educators can make a difference with their early childhood students by introducing them to the natural world. This workshop will show you how to use the Field Trip Pack from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and its many resources to encourage nature exploration by young children. Participants may take a nature hike as part of the day’s activities. Targeted to educators of grades pre-kindergarten through three, participants will take away numerous Illinois-specific resources. Professional Development Hours are available. Sponsored by the IDNR, this workshop is part of the ENTICE (Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education) program. Registration is required at with a deadline of Sept. 3 at 8 a.m.
