Hutson wedding held

After 16 years together, two people took the plunge into marriage on the banks of the Illinois River. Tina Newbern Patrick and Richard Keith (Beaver) Hutson were married on the last full weekend of summer, Saturday, Sept. 16. This was a “destination wedding” on the west bank of the Illinois River, known as Beardstown Beach. The outdoor wedding at this beach is most likely a first for Beardstown. The destination beach was decorated in beautiful fall colors including pumpkins and fall flowers. A pink heart was painted on the sandy beach on which the couple stood to accept the vows of marriage under a nautical themed wedding trellis. The double ring ceremony was officiated by longtime friend, Captain Tracy Brasel, who pronounced the vows to them as they stood barefoot in the sand. Lifetime BFF and Matron of Honor Missy Smith wore a beautiful short burgundy sheath. Best men included three of the couple’s children, Blake Patrick, Drew Patrick, and Nick Prather. The men were dressed in matching navy polos and khaki shorts.   The bride was stunning in a white lace sheath mini dress, with a plunging back and attractive lace insert.  She carried a fall arrangement of flowers and of course was barefoot (but not pregnant). The groom was attired in a white polo, khaki shorts and was also barefoot.
Wedding guests arrived in festively decorated pontoon boats with signs acknowledging the happy couple. Other guests arrived in flat boats or skiffs and some brought their dogs which were also welcome. Guests who did not have access to a boat were provided valet shuttle service across the river so they could attend the ceremony. Valet drivers included: Dave Wells, Scott Vermillion, Pete Warden, Drew Patrick, and Bob Walters. The actual wedding ceremony was livestreamed on Facebook by Buck Chilton. The entire wedding was designed and carried out by family and friends with only three and a half days planning.
A light lunch was served after the ceremony to all guests as well as a wedding cake made by Georgeann Logsdon, and delivered by boat. Libations were brought and enjoyed by guests as the bride and groom toasted each other, and their friends and family who made this destination wedding possible in the short planning time.  The reception carried on into the evening with dancing and celebrating. All guests and family were having a great time. Parents of the happy couple who were in attendance were Wes and Mary Ann Newbern, Beverly Welbourne and companion Pete Warden, and Jim and Pat Hutson.
A destination wedding on an ocean-front beach or a beautiful mountain top is exciting, however this destination wedding on the West Bank of the Illinois River at Beardstown was equally beautiful and fitting to unite this happy couple who enjoys the Illinois River and boating every weekend. Congratulations to Keith and Tina Hutson on their marriage.
