Thanks, parties, and Super Bowl bits

This column is about my thanks, the parties, and Super Bowl bits.
First, Thanks to all you nice people for all the birthday cards, greetings on Facebook, and telephone calls. I find the older one gets the more the birthday greetings. Not that any one greeting is better than another, but I found an interest in the birthday cards from people who start by saying, “You don’t know me but I read your column and I feel that I know you,” and there were many others who I don’t know them, but they must be friends of our children. Thank you all.

In the last few years, the phrase “fake news” has worked its way into our vocabulary. It is a phrase used to describe information that is accepted as fact by some but disbelieved by others.
