A letter from a long-time friend
I received a letter from my long-time friend, Robert “Skelt” Gramann, BHS 1940. Skelt was the manager of our High School basketball team and although all of our team mates have passed on, he and I are still hanging in there, and contact each other frequently. Here is his letter:
“We 95 year olds, every once in a while, resurrect one of those very old and pleasant memories that make it worth while to live this long. The enclosed newspaper clip did it for me” (The news article he enclosed was one telling that the Washington monument is to be closed for two years because it needs a new elevator that was used to take visitors to the top of the monument).
