Terry Watkins retires from city after nearly 36 years of service
Well-wishers gathered for an open house in honor of Terry “Watty” Watkins’ retirement held at the Public Works building Friday, March 6.
Terry has worked as an operator for the city of Beardstown for nearly 36 years; he even remembers his start date of September 20, 1979.
Director Gary Hamilton said that Terry has been a big part of the public works department for the last three decades and has been well liked by new and old employees alike.
Mayor Steve Patterson presented Mr. Watkins with a plaque to commemorate his many years of service.
