Vicky Jo Lamb, 66, of Frederick died Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
She was born July 10, 1954, in Rushville, the daughter of Donald and Wanda Nortrup Walker. She married Leigh Lamb on Sept. 1, 1973, at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown.
She is survived by her husband, Leigh Lamb of Frederick; her mother, Wanda Walker of Mt. Sterling; three children, Sarah (husband James) Toland of Springfield, Emily (husband Bill) Normand of Lockport, Nathan (wife Erin) Lamb of Glenview, and a nephew, Jared (wife Molly) Lamb of Chatham; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Lamb of Frederick; 10 grandchildren, Elise, Carter, Adeline, Bennett, Calahan, Elle, Lafe, Jemma, Jindy, and Jhett; one sister, Tammy (husband Brian) Blair; four brothers, Richard (wife Sue), Jim (wife Joi), David (wife Patty), and Gerald (wife Julie) Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald, and her father-in-law, Lafe Lamb, Jr.
Vicky graduated from Beardstown High School, class of 1972. She had a strong faith throughout her life. Vicky was a member of First United Methodist Church in Beardstown and was active with Walk To Emmaus. She also helped organize many local blood drives. She enjoyed playing golf, participating in many golf leagues and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. Vicky’s family was most important to her and her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren.
Private family services will be held with burial at Clark-Newberry Cemetery in rural Frederick. An informal visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements. The family is planning a memorial celebration when we can gather safely.
Due to current health regulations, face masks will be required and to comply with social distancing guidelines, a limited number of people will be allowed in the church at one time.
