Beardstown Tigers thump West Prairie Cyclones

The Beardstown baseball team opened last week with a convincing win over West Prairie before dropping decisions to PORTA-AC Central and New Berlin. With the two wins and one loss the Tigers’ record now sits at 9-11.

At home last Tuesday, BHS pounded out sixteen hits in a 20 to 10, six-inning win over West Prairie.  It was just 1-0 in favor of the Tigers heading to the bottom of the third inning when the hometown offense exploded for twelve runs to run the score to 13-0. The Cyclones struck right back though, getting six of their own in the top of the fourth. A three-run bottom by the Tigers made it 16-6 after four. West Prairie scored one in the fifth and three in the sixth to cut the margin to 16-10, but Beardstown ended it early with four in the bottom of the sixth.
