One busy lady! Mylee Tracy set the Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia Softball single season strikeout record one day after competing in the 200 and 400 meters at the IHSA State Track Meet.

Ducks stun Lady Trojans

It looked like the Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia softball team had Havana right where they wanted them and would get sweet revenge for a post season loss to the Ducks last year. Unfortunately, a five-run seventh inning by the Ducks stunned the Trojans and gave Havana a 5 to 2 Regional Championship victory last Friday night.

Routt brings down Trojans for Regional Baseball Title

The Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia baseball team fought their way to the Regional Title game but fell short to a very good Jacksonville Routt team, losing 11 to 2.  The Trojans reached the title game by beating a good Brown County team 6 to 1 in the regional opener. Triopia finished 11-18 on the season.

Trojans bring down Pretzels

The Triopia-Virginia-Meredosia baseball team picked up one win against two losses last week to end the regular season with a record of 10-16. They opened the week with a tight 2 to 0 loss to PORTA-AC, then got a nice 4 to 0 win over New Berlin in ten innings then fell flat in the season finale, losing to Pittsfield 15 to 0.

Lady Trojan Softball WIVC Tourney Action

A young Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia softball team played their way into the WIVC Tournament this year, falling just short of a trip to the championship game. The Lady Trojans beat Greenfield-Northwestern 12 to 6 in the opening round then lost to Carrollton 5 to 1 in the semifinals. The big blue wrapped up their regular season with a 13-8 record after losing to Payson in their finale.

Mylee Tracy will represent the Virginia-Triopia-Meredosia Redbird girls track and field team in two events at the IHSA State Finals starting Friday, May 17 at Eastern Illinois University.  Tracy placed second in the 400 meters and third in the 200 meters while beating the qualifying time at the Class 1

Several Redbirds are WIVC champs

Led by a first-place finish from the 4x100 and 4x200 relay team and Mylee Tracy in the 400-meter dash, the Virginia-Merdosia-Triopia girls track team placed second in the Western Illinois Valley Conference Track Meet.  

Softball

Lady Trojans shut out Rebels

The Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia Lady Trojan softball team took full advantage of their only game last week, shutting out the South Fulton Lady Rebels 12 to 0. The Lady Trojans are now 12-6 on the season.  

Lady Bluejays

Two losses for Lady Jays

Two more losses last week have the PORTA-AC Central softball team in the midst of a five-game losing streak. The Lady Bluejays fell 5 to 2 at Auburn and 11 to 4 at home to Williamsville and are now 11-9 on the season.

Against the Trojans, PORTA-AC scored a run in the top of the first to take the lead but a three-run second inning by Auburn turned out to be the difference. The Bluejays added a run in the third, but Auburn tacked on insurance runs in the bottom of the third and in the sixth. The Trojans outhit the Jays 14 to 3 on the afternoon. Aubrey Vogel had two hits, including a triple, and scored both Bluejay runs. Gabbi Branson had the other hit while Karlie Hoke had an RBI and Bailey Dahmer walked twice.

Three straight wins for Trojans

After falling at home to the Havana Ducks in a close one to start the week, the Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia baseball team reeled off three straight wins to improve to 9-14 on the year.  The Trojans beat North Greene and South Fulton on the road, then took down Rushville at home to finish the week in style.

Three wins for Lady Trojan Softball

Three wins and one loss for the Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia softball team last week improved their season record to 11-6.  The Lady Trojans got home wins over Routt and Greenfield, a road win over North Greene and lost at home to a very good Pleasant Hill team.
