The Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia Lady Trojans continued their winning ways with two victories last week to move to 5-2 on the season. On the road on Monday, the Trojans rallied in the second half to defeat Greenfield-Northwestern 39 to 33. Following wins over South County and Carrollton to open the Waverly Tournament, the Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia Lady Trojans lost to South Fork and North Mac to finish in Fourth Place and fall to 3-2 on the year.
One week and three games into the season and the Triopia-Virginia Lady Trojan basketball team already has more than half as many wins as they had all last season. A 3-0 start means the Trojans need only two more wins to match last season’s total of five. Triopia picked up a road win over Beardstown to start the year then added two more victories in the Waverly Tournament over South County and Carrollton.

It was a busy week for the Triopia-Virginia high school volleyball team as the Lady Trojans picked up wins over South County and Griggsville-Perry on Tuesday and Thursday and then split four games on Saturday at the Rushville Invite.
Triopia made short work of South County winning in straight sets 25-7, 25-14. Anna Miller had five kills and Chelsea Bell and Payten Petefish each had four. The Lady Trojan Junior Varsity squad suffered their first loss of the year in a close three set decision, 25-22, 12-25, 25-22. Triopia also breezed past the Tornadoes of Griggsville-Perry, winning 25-9, 25-12. Lindy Parlier led the way with 15 service points and 17 assists. The JV won 25-14, 25-14 and are now 17-1-1 on the season.
