Virginia-Triopia Junior High girls basketball

The Virginia-Triopia Junior High girls basketball teams wrapped up their regular seasons with three games last week.  The season ended entirely for the seventh graders when they lost in the opening round of the Class 2A regional 25 to 14 to Mendon Unity at Mt. Sterling. 

The Virginia-Triopia Junior High Girls Basketball team practice their shooting using the new Dr. Dish basketball machine the program purchased this season. The team would like to thank all of the community members, as well as the Virginia and Triopia Boosters for their generous donations. With this, current and future Lady Redbirds will be able to develop their skill level in order to be successful.

 Three wins last week for the Virginia-Triopia seventh grade girls basketball team pushed their record to over .500 for the season at 10-8.  A couple of tough losses for the eighth-grade squad dropped their record to 10-7 on the year.

Three wins for Lady Redbirds – Virginia-Triopia Junior High Basketball

It was a good week for the Virginia-Triopia Junior High Girls’ Basketball team as they picked up three wins out of four games between the seventh and eighth grade teams. The younger Birds knocked off Griggsville-Perry 36-21 and lost to Brown County 32-11 to bring their record to 7-8 on the year.

Lady Redbird Jr High Basketball Results

It was a tough week for the Virginia-Triopia Lady Redbird Junior High basketball team as they were only able to pick up one win out of four games between the 7th and 8th grade teams.

Lady Redbirds win tourney

With a 21 to 20 win over the host Pretzels, the Virginia Lady Redbird 8th grade girls’ basketball team won the New Berlin Tournament.  The win brought the 8th grade squad’s record to 7 and 1 on the season.
