Village of Chapin to begin spring cleanup

The Village of Chapin is beginning Spring Cleanup. Trustees recently heard a complaint from a resident concerning unkept properties within the village. The properties are in violation of ordinance in regards to abandoned vehicles and debris in view of the public. The properties had been made aware of the violations in the past and the police department will visit with them again.

Chapin receives two grants

The Village of Chapin will be receiving two grants totalling $200,000, this to make OSHA required repairs to the Water Tower. Half the monies are state funds while the other half non-state funds. Previous estimates have the needed work to be approximately $265,000. State Senator Jill Tracy was instrumental in assisting with the grants.
