The Triopia-Meredosia-Chambersburg-Virginia Lady Trojan basketball squad brought home the Third-Place plaque from the North Greene Tournament last week. In an odd bit of symmetry, the Trojans won their opener 37 to 29 over Greenfield-Northwestern (GNW) then fell in the semifinals by an identical 37 to 29 score to Hardin Calhoun. In the third-place game, Triopia outlasted South County 44 to 40.

An excellent season for the Meredosia Chambersburg Triopia Virginia Lady Indians middle school softball team ended in disappointing fashion in the regional semifinals with an 8 to 4 loss to Pittsfield-Pikeland. The Indians lost despite outhitting the Saukees nine to six. MCTV opened regional play with an exciting 9 to 8 win over Camp Point.
The good weather led to a five-game week for the Virginia/Triopia/Meredosia/Chambersburg J.H. Baseball team, and they picked up two wins for their efforts. A nine to three home loss on Monday to Our Saviours of Jacksonville started the week for the Redbirds. Jacksonville outhit the Birds nine to four and Virginia committed three errors in the game. Ryker Howe and Avery Neathery each had two hits and Cosmo Browning drew two walks in the loss.
