The Cass County Food Pantry, Virginia, is in desperate need of help. Shelves, tables, and coolers are empty or near empty.
Sitting on the tables and shelves are boxes and totes. Empty boxes and totes. “We are at our lowest. I have never seen the shelves this bare.” said Joanne Anderson, Food Pantry Director.
Anderson, who has led the helm at the food pantry for 25 plus years, said the pantry serves over 200 Cass County families each month. Each family receives two grocery bags filled with various staples, such as soup, canned milk, tuna, noodles toilet paper, soap and so much more. In addition to the shelf stable items, they receive a bag of fresh cold food, a bag of frozen items, and a flat of vegetables and fruit. “We want to make your trip here worth your while. We want to help you feed your family through the entire month,”
