Lady Trojans fall to Eagles, beat Tornadoes

The Lady Trojans hosted Liberty this Monday at home and came up on the wrong end of a 5-2 final.
The Lady Eagles broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the fifth inning to post the final winning verdict. Jayla Ward who came on in relief of Ashtyn Rouland was charged with the loss.
Liberty’s Brynn Krutmeier was the winning pitcher going the full seven innings, allowing only the two runs. She had the Lady Trojans’ number at the plate with 12 strikeouts, while allowing only four hits. Ward gave up three runs in her 1 1/3 inning in the circle.
Liberty pushed across two runs in the top of the second for the early 2-0 margin on three hits, an error and a fielder’s choice with Lawren Ruths and Julie Matthews scoring on Addison Conrod’s two-run single.
Triopia tied the game at 2-2 with their only two runs that came in the bottom of the same inning when Kamryn Portwood tripled, and scored when Dusterhaus reached on a dropped third strike and came home on Hailey Reynolds’ RBI single.
