Lady Redbirds tracksters have talented group

Megan Smith, a Virginia product, begins her third year as the head coach of the Lady Redbirds and she feels she has not only the experience this season but a whole lot of talent to go with it.
Coach Smith can count on talent not only from Virginia, but from Meredosia and Triopia, as all three schools are co-oping. What really holds back this group is the track they have to practice on. Most schools have an all-weather track, but Virginia does not. Therefore, all their meets are away from home. The cinder track also hinders development of the girl tracksters.
Virginia has 14 participants in girls track this season, and has some very good and talented athletes, with a heavily-laden senior class. Coach Smith will look strong and often in the direction of senior Kenzi Miller who will run the sprints, the hurdles (where Miller excels), and the high jump. She feels that the relay teams will be very strong in 2015, especially in the 4x100 and 4x200.
Running the two relays will be McKenzie Musch (so.), Kendi Sayre (sr.), Bri Schroder (sr.), Ally Bunfill (so.), Maureen Armstrong (sr.), and Becca Helmich (so.). This group coach Smith believes will be outstanding and could do very well in most meets.
High Jump:Kenzi Miller and Kendi Sayre, both solid performers; Sprints-McKenzie Musch, Sayre, Maureen Armstrong, Becca Helmich, and Kenzi Miller; again Coach Smith feels that this group has an excellent chance to excel.
