Beardstown Middle School wrestlers bring home fourth and fifth place medals from state tournament

    Beardstown Middle School wrestling team had a great showing at the IESA state champion wrestling tournament last weekend. Coach Mark O’Hara and assistant coach Antonio Quintana had nothing but praise for the five young men who gave their very best in representing Beardstown Middle School. Three of the boys lost to the state champions in their class.
    Froylan Chavez, 105 lb. class, lost in the preliminaries to Azael Martinez, Romeoville Lukancic in a fall at 2:20. Froylan’s loss was to the eventual state champion in that weight class.
    In the Consolation Bracket, Froylan lost the preliminary round wrestleback to Tyler Bachara, Darien Eisenhower by a close decision, 4-2.
