9-10 boys advance in District 17 finals

Pitching and hitting come together

    The Beardstown 9-10 year old All-Stars buried Quincy National 16-0 Saturday evening, and advanced to the semifinals to be played Monday at Schmoldt Park Diamond at 8 p.m.
    Beardstown’s Carter Ross tossed a near perfect outing against the young Blue Devils, with the exception of a hit batter, and a walk. He did not allow a hit and struck out four. Quincy’s Drake Dodd started and was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs before being relieved by Luke Bovee.
    Ross’ teammates backed him up with an eight-hit attack to go along with eight walks. Colby DeSollar went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored. Parker Bell was 2-for-2 with a RBI, and two runs scored, while Carter Ross scored twice, went 2-for-3 and had a ribbie.
