Speculation ends, Casey’s is coming to Virginia

    Months of speculation have come to an end with the announcement that Virginia will get a new Casey’s General Store.
    Chad Winters reported on Casey’s decision at the April 23 meeting of the Overall Economic Development Commission (OEDC) meeting in Beardstown. Winters, who is vice president of Cass Communications, chairs the OEDC.
    While a construction timetable has not yet been finalized,  Casey’s spokesman Bill Walljasper told the Star-Gazette it is anticipated the new store will open before the end of this year. He said construction takes three to four months.
    Walljasper said Casey’s will utilize its new store design for the Virginia store. The new Casey’s will be located on Ill. Rte. 125 between The Depot restaurant and the Fast Fuels convenience store.
