Shirley Ann “Brandt” Hagen

Shirley Ann (Brandt) Hagen, 88, of Pleasant Plains, died peacefully on February 12, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born on February 10, 1935 to Albert and Margaret (Bomke) Brandt. She graduated from Pleasant Plains High School and married Lee Hagen. She worked most of her life for her brother and sister at BRANDTS. Shirley was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Brandt Thomas; her daughter, Stacy Kress (husband, Jim); her two grandsons, Jacob and Zachary Kress; sister-in-law, Gayle Reiser; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Margaret Bomke Brandt; her brother, Glen Brandt; her husband, Lee Hagen; and her son, Jeff Hagen.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles while eating her favorite treat, popcorn, and watching her favorite TV shows, especially the old westerns. One thing was a given with Shirley; she never missed watching NASCAR and rooting on her favorite number 7 BRANDT driver.

Shirley was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Throughout the years, she enjoyed visiting her daughter and her family in Arizona. She was so proud of her grandsons, Jacob and Zach, and loved them dearly. At times, Shirley could be persuaded to go on an adventure or two with her sister and friends. Shirley will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
