Rushville man sentenced for sexual assault
Schuyler County State’s Attorney Ramon M. Escapa announced that Roger A. Davidson, 49, of Rushville was sentenced on March 18 to 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and mandatory supervised release of three years to natural life for the offense of Criminal Sexual Assault (Class 1 Felony). On February 4, Davidson was found guilty at a stipulated bench trial by Schuyler Circuit Judge Scott Butler, who handed down the sentence.
The sentencing is the result of allegations that on March 27, 2014, the sexual assault occurred when Davidson had inappropriate sexual contact with a victim under the age of 18. Davidson’s actions were discovered when a witness entered a bedroom to find Davidson with the victim. Davidson was arrested at his home on March 27, 2014, and has remained in custody at the Schuyler County Jail on $100,000 bail.
