Robert Lee Young, 85, Louisiana, MO, and formerly of Beardstown, died July 21, 2022.

He was born November 1, 1936 on a farm north of Eolia, MO to William and Mary Young who preceded him in death. Also procedding him in death were a sister, Gertie Royer, and two brothers, James Young and Charles Young.

He married Wilma Houchins May 28, 1955. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2002. Children from that union are Carolyn (John) Tego, Virginia; Wesley (Debbie) Young, Beardstown; and Elaine (Robert) Sampson, Jacksonville. He later married Beverly Smith on March 20, 2004. Her children became his and they are Peggy (Mike) Lindsay, Louisiana, MO; John (Tammi) Smith, Louisiana, MO; 10 grandchildren and 16-great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

He was a member of the Baylis Baptist Church in Baylis. He worked for Oscar Mayer in Beardstown for many years. His last job before retiring at 80 years old was Fowler Lumber Co. in Louisiana, MO.

He loved his wife and family dearly. He was a true servant to the God he loved.

There will be a private service at a later date. Burial will be in Beardstown City Cemetery.
