Rauner touts Turnaround agenda

Gov. Bruce Rauner was in Beardstown last Thursday, April 9, to tout his Illinois Turnaround agenda and to seek support for his proposals.
Stopping at Cargill’s loading facility on Main Street, Rauner urged those present to contact their state representatives and senators and indicate their support for changes.
The state must have a balanced budget, Rauner said. He said everyone would have to make sacrifices, including labor and management.
Job creation and growth, along with economic competitiveness, are key components of his Turnaround agenda. It also focuses on a property tax freeze and pension reform.
