Raising Walls - Rising rates

Raising walls – to rising fees Construction continues on the expansion of the Beardstown Sanitary District’s sewage treatment facility.  The project, which carries a price tag of more than $13 million,  was mandated by the U.S. Environmental Protection agency and will nearly triple the capacity of the local facility from 2.3 million gallons of waste water treated per day to more than 8 million gallons per day. In this aerial view construction of one of the two 70-foot diameter clarifiers can be seen along with the facility that will house the three new vertical loop reactor aeration tanks.
