MCS Community Services announces start of the Energy Assistance Program

MCS Community Services, as administrator of the Energy Assistance Program in Morgan, Cass, and Scott counties, is pleased to announce that funds are available to assist income-eligible households with their natural gas, propane and/or electric bills and furnace assistance for inoperable heating systems. The program will begin taking applications on October 1, 2025 for older adults (60 years+), individuals with a disability, families with children age five years and under, and households that are disconnected from their utilities, have a disconnection notice or haveless than 25% in their propane tank.

ALPLM offers chance to join volunteer team

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) will welcome potential new members of its amazing volunteer team at an orientation session Wednesday, September 10.

Two advance to Sectionals for BASA Bowling

Two bowlers will be representing the Beardstown Area Special Athletes at the Sectional Bowling competition. Based on their first-place performance at the 2025 Bowling Regional, Dalton Davis and Amber Crane qualified for sectional action.
