Lady Tiger's host showcase

The Beardstown softball team hosted the annual Lady Tiger Showcase last weekend and an onslaught of quality teams saw BHS go just 1-3 on the weekend. Two earlier wins in a hectic, six game week gave the Tigers a 3-3 overall record for the week making them 7-6 on the season.

Exciting week for Bluejay Baseball

The PORTA-AC Central softball team lost their first two games of last week before rebounding to get a good 10 to 7 home win over the Macomb Bombers on Saturday. The Lady Bluejays lost to Maroa Forsyth 8 to 2 on Tuesday and fell to Quincy High School 14 to 10 on Friday.

We’re still getting crazy weather where we can’t decide what to wear. It may be 70 degrees during the day, but drop to 35 at night. We’re still not in the safe zone of putting away our winter clothes.

Skid Continues for Trojan Baseball

Three more losses last week have pushed the season opening winless streak for the Triopia-Skid Continues for Trojan Baseball Meredosia-Virginia High School baseball team to ten games. The Trojans lost in a slugfest 15 to 10 last Monday at Greenfield, were beaten by the ten-run rule in six innings 11 to 1 against Liberty on Tuesday and fell in a tough pitcher’s duel 4 to 0 at PORTA-AC Central on Saturday.

L and J’s Treasures Resale Shop opens

Owners Jesse Garmon and Leeann Stone, along with friends and family, had their ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of their business. Stone said the reason behind starting L and J’s Treasures is to help the community and surrounding areas with an affordable and accessible store that offers new and gently used items while supporting local businesses and preventing waste.
