Land of Lincoln Honor Flight kicks off our 2025 flying season with Mission #73 on April 15, 2025.

Mission #73 will serve 93 Veterans including 11 Korean Era veterans 82 Vietnam era veterans from 41 Illinois home towns of Alhambra, Aviston, Bartelso, Beckemeyer, Bethalto, Bloomington, Bondville, Breese, Carlinville, Columbia, Decatur, Divernon, Fairview Heights, Germantown. Grant Park, Highland, Hoffman, Jacksonville, Joliet, Lincoln, Marrisa, Mascoutah, Minooka, Morrisonville, Normal, Palmer, Pana, Pekin, Pocahontas, Salem, Shattuc, Shelbyville, Sidney, Springfield, Taylorville, Teutopolis, Trenton, Tuscola, Vandalia, Waverly, Winchester and Xenia.

LLCC recruiting volunteer tutors for adult literacy and education

Lincoln Land Community College is recruiting volunteer tutors to assist adults and English language learners in improving their skills in reading, writing, math and technology. Tutors are needed from each of the 15 Illinois counties served by the LLCC District.

Virginia-Meredosia-Triopia Track results

The Virginia-Meredosia-Triopia Junior High and High School Track teams had a successful start to their outdoor season last week with several individual medal winners. The junior high participated in an eight team meet on Wednesday at Riverton and a five team meet on Thursday at Havana.

Trojans get shut out

A tough schedule and a struggling offense has the Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia Baseball Team off to an 0-6 start with three losses last week. The struggling Trojan offense failed to score in any of the games and only managed five hits.

Bingo! Tri County fundraiser is a success

The Tri County Thunder District 17 Senior Softball Team, the back-to-back Little League World Series Champions have officially started the defense of their 2024 and 2023 Championships. Their bingo fundraiser held on March 29 was such a success that they have planned another one for Saturday, May 17.
