The Beardstown Junior High track teams stayed close to home last week with co-ed meets at Rushville and at home with the eighth-grade boys claiming first place out of nine teams at the Rushville meet last Thursday. The Beardstown High School Winter Sports Banquet was held last week at the Elks Club with the cheerleading squad, dance team, girls’ basketball and wrestling teams recognizing all participants and handing out individual season award winners. The boys’ basketball team will be holding a separate award ceremony later due to a scheduling conflict.
