Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological condition that can affect patients' lives in many ways due to its physical symptoms, which typically begin gradually and then worsen over time. Symptoms of PD can include everything from involuntary movements called "tremors" to stiffness and difficulty balancing and walking.
Tiger 8th-grade boys win track meet
The Beardstown Junior High track teams stayed close to home last week with co-ed meets at Rushville and at home with the eighth-grade boys claiming first place out of nine teams at the Rushville meet last Thursday. The seventh-grade boys placed eighth, the eighth-grade girls placed second and the seventh-grade girls placed fifth.
Exciting start for Lady Trojan Softball
Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia softball fans were treated to a double bonus by the Lady Trojans in the opening game of the year. A well-played ball game ended with a 2 to 1 Trojan walk off victory over Illini West in the bottom of the seventh.
BHS Winter Sports Awards
The Beardstown High School Winter Sports Banquet was held last week at the Elks Club with the cheerleading squad, dance team, girls’ basketball and wrestling teams recognizing all participants and handing out individual season award winners. The boys’ basketball team will be holding a separate award ceremony later due to a scheduling conflict.
Season opening win for BHS Soccer
The 2025 edition of the Beardstown High School Girls’ Soccer Team kicked off their season with a win over the host school at the Springfield Lutheran Tournament last Monday. The Lady Tigers took down the Crusaders by a score of 3 to 0.
