Health issues take its toll

This past winter has been a tough one for me, especially February and March. Three trips to the hospital in Springfield plus two ambulance rides does take its toll on anyone, but especially senior citizens.

The Beardstown High School girls’ soccer team will be playing for a Regional Title for the second straight season. The seventh-seeded Lady Tigers pulled off a huge first round upset last Friday, notching a 2 to 1 win over number two-seeded Monmouth-Roseville at their place to advance to the title game.

Season wins record for Lady Trojans

A 4-1 week for the Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia High School softball team gave the Lady Trojans a regular season ending mark of 25-7, setting a new team record for wins in a season. Mylee Tracy also broke the individual season pitching wins record for the big blue.

In recent weeks we have published stories about traffic jams on the bridge due to one way traffic. As a result of those traffic jams, patience is wearing thin for many, especially early mornings and late afternoons when people are commuting back and forth to work.
