CASA volunteers urgently needed in multi-county training to be held

Lady Indians win two of three

The Meredosia-Chambersburg-Virginia-Triopia Junior High softball team won two of their last three games to finish the regular season with a record of 12-6-1. The Lady Indians snuck by Pleasant Hill 3 to 2 in a nine-inning thriller last Tuesday, pounded Payson-Seymour 14 to 0 the next day, then lost a tough one to Carrollton 5 to 4 on Thursday.

Redbirds notch three wins on the diamond

The Virginia-Meredosia-Triopia Junior High School baseball team won three out of four games last week to move to 8-5-1 on the year with one regular season contest remaining. The Redbirds defeated Payson-Seymour 11 to 5, Springfield Christ the King 12 to 4, then in their own tournament lost to St.

Cassie J. Bent, 42, Beardstown, was arrested on a Cass County Warrant for failure to appear in court. She posted 200 bond and was released.

Eight Straight wins for A-C Central Baseball

The AC Central-PORTA Junior High School baseball team has won eight straight games, including four last week, with the final two giving the Knights the Virginia Tournament Championship last weekend. The Knights are 9-4 on the year with two regular season games remaining.
