The Beardstown Soccer Club is excited to kick off the 2025 Beardstown Youth Soccer League season with over 250 area youngsters aged 6 to 14 signed up to play. Practices will begin the week of June 9th, and the first game of the season will take place on Saturday, June 21st.
Beardstown Area Special Athletes are looking for adult co-ed, slow pitch softball teams for a fundraiser tournament to be held at Roy Roberts Park in Beardstown on June 28. The co-ed tournament will be held on Big Jones Ball Field while a Special Olympics Tournament takes place on Little Jones Field.

Most everyone has heard of the Foreign Exchange Student program, but how many has heard of the Foreign Exchange Teacher program? The Illinois State Board of Education and the Spanish Ministry of Education have partnered for over 25 years to facilitate a cultural exchange by supporting and managing the Visiting International Teachers Program. Beardstown CUSD #15 became part of this program during the 2022-2023 school year.
Following a discussion on whether to repair or replace the sprinkler system at Art Zeeck Park, Beardstown City Council unanimously agreed to replace the old system at a cost of $22,460 at the June 3 meeting. Repairing the current 25-year-old sprinkler system would have cost $5,000 for two years.
