Cass County Junior Show Queen for 2025 is Kenzie Meyer of Arenzville. The 2025 Miss Cass County Fair Queen is Kaylee Beck of Arenzville.

Beardstown's Bicentennial needs community support

The City of Beardstown was chartered in 1829, that means in just three and a half short years, the community will enter its Bicentennial year. An event celebrating the city’s 200th birthday will require extensive planning and coordination and, at this point, there is no committee.

Star-Gazette wins IPA awards

Once again, the Cass County Star-Gazette won several awards at the Illinois Press Association (IPA) Convention in June.

Two-time Champion Tri-County Thunder ready to defend title

The two-time defending Little League Senior Softball World Series Champion Tri-County Thunder District 17 Softball team will begin their title defense with state tournament play on Monday, July 7, at Rice Field in Beardstown. The Thunder will take on Kaneland from District 13 and the first game is set for 2:00 p.m., with game two to follow at 4:00 p.m.
