Triopia-Meredosia-Virginia High School baseball has hired a new coach, and he is jumping right in the saddle by offering a youth baseball camp this summer. Jody Parrish has been tabbed as the new baseball coach for the Trojans, starting with the 2026 season.
The dates and locations for the 2025 District 17 Little League 9/10-year-old and 11/12-year-old All-Star softball tournaments have been announced. The 9/10-year-olds will play a five-team double elimination tournament while the 11/12-year-old tourney will be a four-team double elimination affair.
Excessive heat forced the postponement of week one games of the Beardstown Youth Soccer League scheduled for Saturday, June 21, at the Beardstown Park District Soccer Fields. A makeup date will be announced later but the full schedule of games for all divisions is here.
The Beardstown Park District’s Board of Commissioners is on a mission. The mission: Raise $100,000 per year for the next five years and establish a capital development fund that will pay for repairs or improve park district facilities.
More than 280 members and their families attended Menard Electric Cooperative’s 87th Annual Meeting on June 18th at Pleasant Plains High School. Members elected directors, learned more about the cooperative, enjoyed a pork chop dinner and mini donuts, and visited with neighbors and co-op employees.
