Invitation to study the Bible

Students of all ages are welcome to join fellow travelers to journey through the Bible book of Exodus. The journey begins at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, rural Arenzville. New students receive the first workbook free.

Dolores Kay Brown, 86 , Springfield and formerly of Beardstown, died Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at her home. She was born November 23, 1936 in Beardstown, the daughter of Fred Clifton “Tip” and Myrtle Ann Reynolds Cannon.

Lady Trojans win Meredosia Tourney

The varsity and JV volleyball teams for Triopia-Virginia-Meredosia-Chambersburg won first place at last week’s Meredosia tournament. The varsity finished the tournament undefeated at 5-0 and the JV finished 4-0-1, splitting with South County. Chelsea Bell, Lucie Dion, and Mylee Tracy were selected to the Varsity All-Tournament team from the Lady Trojans.

Tigers top Wolves

It certainly was not easy, but in the end the Beardstown Tiger football team came home from Pleasant Hill last Friday with a 34-14 win to move to one-one on the season. A relentless Christy Domitien, despite hobbling on a gimpy ankle late in the game, had a couple of great runs out of the QB position by Elizah Thomas and Ethan Heller and some timely turnovers keyed the Orange and Black victory.
