It was a tough week for the Virginia-Triopia Lady Redbird Junior High basketball team as they were only able to pick up one win out of four games between the 7th and 8th grade teams.

Two times the titles for Bluejay Volleyball

The PORTA-AC Central Lady Bluejay volleyball team continues to play excellent volleyball, winning tournaments over back-to-back weekends at Beardstown and Waverly.  Counting a win the week before the Beardstown Tourney and two wins between the tourneys, the Lady Bluejays are riding a ten-game win streak and sit at 24-6 on the season.

Although it was not the final result that he had hoped for, Beardstown eighth grader Liam Hymes did the town proud with his finish at the Illinois Elementary School Association Class 2A Cross Country State Championship Meet last Saturday.

There is so much stress in the world today. Trains are turning over with chemicals which start big fires, the weather has been so unpredictable and harsh in many places, and the conflicts between countries seem to be increasing.
