The City of Virginia hired a young man named Tanner Force to be the public works director at the city council meeting on June 9th. Force has been on the job for approximately two months now. He states that Virginia is a town full of nice people and pride.

BASA Black Attack is state bound

The Beardstown Area Special Athletes Black Attack softball team will be headed to the State Tournament in Springfield on September 6 and 7. The Black Attack qualified with a 13 to 5 victory in the Region H Title game, also in Springfield, last weekend.

Traffic pattern changes for Illinois State Fair

The Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois Department of Agriculture today announced temporary changes in traffic patterns around the Illinois State Fairgrounds to accommodate the influx of vehicles during the fair.

Beardstown Police News

Keyondra M. Hart, 35, Beardstown, was arrested on a Schuyler County Warrant for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia on August 4 and was lodged in Schuyler County Jail.
