Ashland purchases police radios

The Ashland Village Board voted last week to purchase two new police radios at last week’s village board meeting. The two units, one for the village police vehicle and a portable unit to be worn by an officer, cost over $15,500.

Chandlerville Board hears from Cass County Animal Control

At the August meeting of the Chandlerville Village Board, Angie Lunsford, member of the Cass County Animal Control Committee, Ramona Douglass, Cass County Board Member and Jeff Smith, Administrator of Animal Control were in attendance to discuss Chandlerville’s decision not to review their participation in the Cass County Animal Control agreement between the cities, towns, or villages in Cass County. Lunsford wanted to make sure the Village of Chandlerville will have a procedure in place in case of a dog bite.

New beginning for BHS Football

Another new beginning is at hand for the Beardstown High School Football Team as Chris Sawyers takes over for Elliot Craig as head coach of the Tigers.

Lady Tiger Softball is Still Rolling

The beat goes on for the Beardstown Junior High School softball team as three more wins last week pushed their season record to 9-0. After a 17 to 5 dismantling of Mendon Unity last Tuesday, the Lady Tigers found out a little more about themselves in identical 3 to 2 wins over Rushville-Industry and Midwest Central on Wednesday and Saturday.
