Winning in impressive fashion, the Beardstown Area Special Athletes (BASA) Black Attack Softball Team are the Special Olympics North American National Champion. Unsure of what the competition on the grandest of stages would be like, the Black Attack coaches were just hoping to compete and at least win a game.
For the fourth consecutive week, only one of the area football teams was victorious last Friday night. The Triopia-Merdosia-Chambersburg-Virginia Trojans picked up a huge win, knocking off arch- rival Jacksonville Routt to move to 2-2 on the season.
