OEDC to host session on disaster preparedness for area businesses

Area businesses soon will have an opportunity to better prepare for all types of emergencies.
At last Thursday’s Overall Economic Development Commission (OEDC) meeting in Beardstown, it was announced that a Ready Business presentation will be made on Sept. 30. The session is tentatively set to be held at 9 a.m. at the Golden Age Center, 111 W. Third St., Beardstown, according to Dustin Fritsche, University of Illinois Extension program coordinator.
Ready Business was launched in 2004 by the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help small to medium-size businesses to take the steps needed to deal with potential emergencies and disasters.
