Victor Ralph Evans September 21, 1954 - March 21, 2015

    Victor Ralph Evans, 60, of Beardstown and formerly of Winchester, died Saturday, March 21 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
    He was born Sept. 21, 1954, in Scott County, the son of Ralph and Katherine Evans. He married Ramona Angel on May 27, 1988 in Burlington, Iowa and she survives.
    He is survived by two daughters: Mandy (Brian) Friedrich and grandson, Bryce of Havana, Laura (Michael) Williams and grandson, Devon of Jacksonville; and two sons: Robert and Tyler Evans of Beardstown. Victor is also survived by two sisters: Brenda Gregory of Winchester and Kathy (Virgil) Nix of Carlinville, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters: Virginia Ehlert, Arlene Brown, Rennha Louise Burger, and Jaueniece Zundell.
    Vic was a graduate of Winchester High School. He retired from BNSF Railroad after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way. His friends and family were a very important part of his life. Christmas was his most favorite time of the year. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to bow hunt.  He especially enjoyed hunting with his “brother by another mother,” Tom (Lori) Swan of Rushville.
    A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Friends can meet with the family from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
