Steve “Two Arrows” Stinson, 56, of Arenzville, passed away Thursday, March 31, at his home.
He was born July 7, 1959 in Beardstown, the son of Earl and Carolyn Anderson Stinson. He married Marian Kacenski on July 10, 1982 in Beardstown and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Carolina (Tyler) Looker of Beardstown and Dakotah (Andrew) Ehle of Jacksonville; one grandson, Kaler Looker of Beardstown; one sister, Dakota (Jack) Deaver of Arenzville; one brother, Rick (Connie) Stinson of Arenzville; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stinson was a graduate of Triopia High School and worked as a self-employed carpenter and photographer. He was a member of the Mascouten Bay Long Rifles, NRA and Ducks Unlimited. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and “mountain man.” He loved fishing, hunting, trapping, deer and eagle watching. He was a skilled craftsman, recently building a wagon for his daughter’s wedding and constructing a western town. He enjoyed painting, reading, and anything western, especially artifacts. Steve was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Sager Funeral Home with burial at Arenzville North Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of services at the funeral home.
