Maxine Farmer Privia, 94, of Beardstown died Thursday, Dec. 31, at Heritage Health in Beardstown.
She was born Aug. 2, 1921 in Lapeer, Mich., the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Wilde Mowen. She married Charles Farmer in 1937 and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1986. She later married Frank Privia on Sept. 8, 1991 in Hawaii and he preceded her in death on July 24, 1999.
She is survived by one son, William (Cindy) Farmer of Beardstown; five grandchildren, Scott (Debbie) Becker of Staunton, Leasa (Steve) Summey of Ooltewah, Tenn., Robert (Bobbie Jo) Hill of Athens, and Debbie (Mark) Spears, all of Beardstown; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Saundra Ripple; two grandsons, Chris Becker and Charles “Chuck” Farmer; two brothers, L.J. and Ralph Mowen; and four sisters, Christine Odolovich, Doris Hughes, Odie Moorehouse and Betty Bonner.
Mrs. Privia was a member of the Beardstown Emblem Club. She enjoyed music and dancing and was very talented in making ceramics. Maxine was a genuine caretaker for her family and animals alike.
A graveside service was held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from noon until time of services at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown.
