Marifrances Ralston, 89, of Beardstown, died Saturday, Nov. 14, at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by friends and family.
She was born July 7, 1926 in Ray, Ill., the daughter of Loren and Mary Trone. She married Victor Dale Ralston on June 16, 1943 in Palmyra, Miss.
Surviving are her children, Brian (Sherry) Ralston of Rushville and Randy (Kaiping) Ralston of Normal; six grandchildren, Tori Phillips, Lori Frashier, Aaron Ralston, Nathan Ralston, Sara Barrientos, and Jason Ralston; nine great-grandchildren, Stone and Autumn Phillips, Schuyler, Garrett, Keegan and Maysen Frashier, Allie Ralston, and Hannah and C.J. Barrientos; one brother, C.W. Trone of Rushville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Ralston; one son, Gary Ralston; parents, Loren and Mary Trone; and two sisters, Lorene Sullivan and Freda Tatman.
Marifrances attended Astoria Schools. Later in life, she went back and received her GED in Rushville. She accepted the Lord at the age of 13 at the Astoria Church of the Brethren and was re-baptized at the Ripley Church of God where she became a longtime member. Marifrances worked at Maid Rite and Tastee Freeze restaurants, but her main occupation was as a loving homemaker and mother/grandmother to her family. She especially enjoyed painting, camping, driving her car, taking trips, watching Cardinals Baseball and listening to country music. Most of all, she treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a strong faith that carried her through the ups and downs of her life.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown with burial in Palm Cemetery, near Rushville. Family will meet with friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of time of services at the funeral home.
