Lourria W. Riley January 14, 1923 - February 27, 2015

    Lourria W. Riley, 92, of Springfield, died at 5:45 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
    She was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Chandlerville to Harry and Arrie (Pierson) Wilkey. She married Leslie James Riley on Dec. 24, 1936, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1971.
    She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Lloyd Cox and Gene “Jimmy” A. Riley; six grandsons; two brothers; two sisters; one great-granddaughter; and one son-in-law.
    She is survived by three daughters: Aray Rohdman of Pawnee, Louise Diefenback and Wanda C. Riley, both of Springfield; one son, Jack (Frieda) Riley of Columbus, Ohio; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great-grandchildren; five nephews: Terry (Sue) Hill of Virginia; Rick Hill of O’Fallon; Gene Revis of Ky.; Duane Revis of O’Fallon and Robert Davidson of Riverton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Lourria was a resident of Springfield since 1978. She was a nurse’s aide at St. John’s Hospital from 1966 to 1971; from 1971-1989 she worked as a receptionist at the School of Nursing from where she retired. She was a member of the Christian Church of Buffalo and enjoyed spending time with her family.
    Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, March 5 at Staab Funeral Home.
    A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 6 at the funeral home with Terry Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.
