Loren Reed Briggs, 51, of Beardstown, died Monday, June 13, at his sister’s home, in Meredosia, surrounded by family.
He was born Feb. 4, 1965 in Belvidere, the son of Charlie and Betty Lisenbee Briggs.
He is survived by his mother and step-dad, Betty and Gene Nash of Beardstown; one son, Josh Kessel of Littleton; two sisters, Reeda Coats of Beardstown and Nellie (Shawn) Knous of Meredosia; two step-sisters, Jeanie Cluney of Beardstown and Lori (Nick) Gustafson of Mt. Vernon; three step-brothers, Ronnie and Leroy Nash, both of Beardstown and Willy Brooks of Versailles; significant other, Melanie Taylor of Meredosia; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie; one niece, Erica Lane; and one step-brother, Mike Nash.
Loren had a passion for music and had an extensive collection of CDs, tapes and records. He enjoyed camping and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 18, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. There will be no formal services. Memorials are suggested to the family, c/o Betty Nash. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.sagerfuneralhome.com.
