James H. Mellor, 75, of Rushville, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at his residence.
He was born March 3, 1941 in Colfax, Iowa. Jim was the seventh of eight children born to the late James A. and Bertha Withers Mellor. He married Marian L. Simpson Jan. 5, 1974 in Rushville. She survives along with two sons, Kevin Mellor and Joseph Mellor and wife Katherine, all of Rushville; two daughters, Jeri Marinelli and husband John of Springfield and Melissa Schmittler and husband Sam of Greenview; nine grandchildren, Cody Marinelli and wife Kayla, Joshua Marinelli, Kayla Clemence and husband Brad, Chelsey Howell and husband Brandon, Ian, Nicholas, Abigail, Macie, and Jaxon Mellor.
Jim worked at Oscar Mayer & Co. and Excel Corp. in Beardstown many years. He also was the head of the maintenance department at Chandlerville School Dist., worked as a general contractor, and was a bus driver for Beardstown School Dist. #15 until retiring. He was a member of the Beardstown Jaycees, Beardstown Lions Club, and coached and umpired Pony League Baseball in Beardstown for many years. Cremation will be accorded. There will be no services.
