Harold Junior Anderson
Harold Junior Anderson, 98, of Washington, IL, formerly of Peoria Heights, died at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Washington Christian Village in Washington.
Harold was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Beardstown to Harold W. and Julia I. (Shouse) Anderson. He married Ida Mae Parsano on Sept. 27, 1941, in Hannibal, MO; she preceded him in death on April 10, 2011, after almost 70 years of marriage.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Anderson; and two sisters, Janice Dotzert and Marjean Merritt.
Harold is survived by his sons, Jerry (Carol) Anderson of Chillicothe, and Terry (Mary Pat Frugo-Anderson) of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Chad B. (Jasmin), Cindy D., Collin M. (Andrea), Ryan K. (Lauren), and Connor B.; five great-grandchildren, Cai, Theodore, Paisley, Jethro, and Henry; and two brothers, Alfie (Pat) Anderson, and Don Anderson.
Harold served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 87th Infantry, and fought during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a 50-plus year member of the Peoria Heights Congregational Church in Peoria Heights. Harold was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing throughout his life.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 30 at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria with Jeff Ringenberg officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Nov. 30 at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
