Geraldine “Jerry” Schuman April 23, 1930 - March 30, 2015

    Jerry Schuman, 84, of Chesterfield, Mo. and formerly of Jacksonville, died Monday,  March 30, at her home in Chesterfield. She was born April 23, 1930 in Ottawa, the daughter of Warren and Marjorie Anderson Rankin. She married Keith Schuman on December 23, 1951 in Beardstown.
    She is survived by two children: Karen Schuman of Chesterfield, Mo. and David Schuman (wife, Karen Ackerman-Schuman) of St. Charles, Mo. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Elaine, her brother, Robert Rankin and her husband, Keith.
    Mrs. Schuman graduated from Beardstown High School and moved to Alaska after marrying Keith. They moved to Jacksonville in 1953 and lived there for over 50 years. She was an active member of the Junior Women’s Club where she was president of the Women’s Club and the Past President’s Club. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies and Altar Guild. She was also active with the March of Dimes. Jerry was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. She worked for Dr. Robert Davis for 30 years until retiring.
    A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, April 6 at the funeral home.
